What to expect from working with a nutritionist?
Before Your Initial Consultation
Upon booking your consultation, I will ask you to fill an indepth health questionnaire and 3 day food diary to give me some indication of your health and diet. The questionnaire must be returned to me via email for review at least 48 hours before the initial consultation.
Holistic nutrition is about looking at the body as a whole and getting to the root cause of your symptoms and disease. The best way for me to help you get to the root of your condition, is to truly understand your health history, lifestyle and personal experiences with your current health. No one knows your body and experiences better than you and that’s why it is so important to take the time to fully understand your perspective, so we can begin the healing process.
I will use the questionnaire as a base for further investigation into your current health and concerns. We will go over your medical history, current and past symptoms, nutrient deficiencies, medications, emotional wellbeing and current diet and lifestyle.
The initial consultation will take approximately 60 to 90 mins.
We will discuss foods that may be contributing to your symptoms and start to make suggestions of foods that may help alleviate your symptoms.
A personalised diet, and lifestyle plan (including any recommended supplements) will be fully researched, formulated and emailed to you within 48 hours.
A series of follow-up consultations will take place after the initial session, lasting approximately 45 minutes. This is a great opportunity to note any improvements, solve any problems you may have encountered and discuss how we can best take you to the next level on your journey towards better health.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled meeting are subject to a cancellation fee of $80.00.
Are visits covered?
Various group health insurance providers cover Registered or Certified Nutritionists under extended or wellness benefit plans. Some employers offer alternative health benefits as an add-on option to their packages. Contact your employer or insurance provider for more information.
Do I need to be Vegan or Vegetarian to work with you?
Although my approach is focused on whole plant foods, which I recommend as the best shortcut to sustainable weight loss and overall health, the choice of how much you want to incorporate and change is up to you and I fully respect your choices and will support you in your journey at a pace that is comfortable for you.
With that said it is also my responsibility to be real with my clients and help move them past their comfort zones, so they are able to succeed in areas that they would have not be able to do on their own.
Whole food plant based diets are backed by an enormous amount of science based evidence in the treatment and prevention of various chronic diseases. Depending on your current situation, symptomes and lifestyle, together we will come up with a goal and plan that works specifically for you.
The focus is “Plant Based” not “Plant Exclusive” , however the more plants you eat and the less refined and animal products you consume the quicker you will see the health benefits and weight loss. Ultimately our sessions are all about you and your expectations. Generally the bigger the changes the bigger the results.
